ABOUT

“Simple, refined and responsible cooking that
chimes perfectly with our mindset and
way of working at Banque de Luxembourg.”
Pierre Ahlborn, Administrateur-délégué de la Banque de Luxembourg

The book “Through The Seasons” and this website grew out of two wishes. I wanted to introduce you to one of my passions, while also expressing my admiration for the cooking of Werner Wagner, the talented chef at our restaurant, La Villa du Parc Amélie.

We reveal the secrets behind some of La Villa du Parc’s most iconic dishes. The tips and recipes that Werner has set out so carefully and thoroughly will teach you how to select the best products of the season, give you the confidence to make surprising combinations to delight your senses, and help you to create delicious dishes that your friends and family are sure to love.

It only remains for me to wish you a pleasant and appetising journey through the poetic world of Chef Wagner.

La Villa du Parc Amélie

A haven of tranquillity, La Villa du Parc Amélie offers
a beautifully simple, stylish and private space
for meeting and entertaining guests. It perfectly
reflects our attentive Bank and the
family mindset we promote.

La Villa du Parc Amélie is the home of Banque de Luxembourg’s restaurant. This elegant mansion stands proudly in the heart of a leafy oasis, not far from the contemporary architecture of the Banque de Luxembourg headquarters. It takes its name from the exquisite public park that surrounds it, which was designed in the 19th century by landscape gardener Edouard André and features a much-admired monument to the Dutch Princess Amalia (Amélie), who was very popular in Luxembourg.

An old townhouse, La Villa was purchased by Banque de Luxembourg in April 1998. It has been extensively renovated since then, but without touching the fabric of the building. The original construction of the façade has been preserved, but the interior has been completely redesigned in cooperation with Jean- Michel Wilmotte, the architect who designed the Bank’s new headquarters. The space has been reworked to modernise the kitchen with the latest equipment and provide six completely private reception rooms, on three floors, with a lift for people with reduced mobility. Natural materials, soft colours and contemporary artworks create a subtle, elegant decor and a warm ambience, perfect for meeting and socialising. La Villa welcomes around twenty guests a day – clients, partners and relationship managers of the Bank – for a hospitable gourmet break.
